As was the custom for over a thousand years, the celebration of the feast day of St Domnius, the Syrian-born saint martyred in the amphitheater of Salona back in 304 AD, had been celebrated today by the holy mass in the cathedral of Split that was headed by Dražen Kutleša, the coadjutor archbishop of the Archdiocese of Split-Makarska.
Like the last year, when a state-wide lockdown due to the Coronavirus pandemics stopped the celebration of Split’s patron saint in its tracks, the situation is not much better this year. The customary procession of the reliquary of St Domnius will reportedly not take place in its usual form. The open-air market and the traditional game of tombola are cancelled as well, while the customary live concert at the Riva Promenade will be replaced by the prerecorded concert of Gibonni that will air on the national television HRT 2 at 20:40 local time.
Na dobro Vam došla Sudamja!
