93rd Mrduja Regatta on October 5, 2024

The Traditional Mrduja Regatta is the largest cruiser regatta in this part of the Adriatic. The regatta is organized by the Labud Sailing Club from Split, and the course covers 22 nautical miles.

Mrduja takes place on the first weekend of October, making it a kind of farewell to summer and marking the beginning of the racing season. Many people from Split care less about competing to win and more about participating in this cherished tradition. They celebrate by inviting friends on board, preparing local specialties, and serving the finest wines before, during, and after the race.

However, despite the celebratory nature of the event, winning Mrduja is prestigious for Adriatic sailors, even though the regatta is not particularly demanding in terms of length and course—22 NM from Split, around the islet of Mrduja between the islands of Brač and Šolta, and back to Split. The key to winning the race lies in understanding the racecourse and choosing the right tactic—whether to head towards Šolta or Brač to catch the best wind.

The 93rd Mrduja – Sailing Festival in Split starts on October 5th, Saturday, with a start at 11 AM from the Split City Harbour. For those looking to watch the sailing, we recommend setting up on  Sustipan Park from where the regatta can be best enjoyed.

For those looking to participare, online registrations are open, and you can sign up using the following link: https://www.jklabud.hr/mrdujska-regata/prijave-online
